I want to get suspended at Winter Fire.

I think I started following BME’s body modification blog during my most soul-crushing office-worker period. For someone who (at the time) didn’t even have their ears pierced, I was bookmarking quite a few photos of suspensions… not, of course, because I ever wanted to try hanging from hooks embedded in my skin, but because BME always posted such amazing photos. Then, a few months ago, I started asking people at happy hour who’d done suspension about their experiences… and then, like a sign, I unearthed a zine one of my acquaintances made last year about their experiences getting suspended at kink events in four different states, called Twenty Holes in September.
You know where this is going, don’t you? I’ve decided that yes, I really want to try it, and there’s no better place to do it than at Winter Fire, one of the biggest kinky events of the year.
I’ve done my homework—I’m fairly sure I now know what a good suspension looks like, and I know about scarring possibilities and wound aftercare, and I have the name of a skilled kinkster who has suspended several of my friends. Of course, since I’m a weenie, I’m going to start with an “energy pull”—they’ll put two hooks in my chest, but instead of leaving the ground, I’ll be able to pull on the rope myself, testing my pain tolerances at my own pace. Then, if I can handle that, I might go the whole way.
